STATEMENT OF FAITH

THE ONE TRUE GOD

We believe in one eternal God that exists in three co-equal divine persons: The Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each of these divine persons possesses all the perfect attributes of God. God is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and of all things therein. Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isaiah 43:10,11; Matthew 28:19.

THE BIBLE

We believe that the 66 books of the Bible are divinely inspired by God, without error, and given to humanity through human authors. The Bible is the complete revelation of God’s will for salvation, the ultimate authority on issues of Christian faith, and a flawless guide to a victorious life on earth. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12.

HUMANITY

We believe that, on the 6 th day of creation, God created man in his own perfect image. But, because of Adam’s sin, mankind fell from his original state of moral perfection and was separated from God. Therefore, we are all subject to spiritual and physical death. Only via God’s saving grace through His only and begotten son Jesus Christ can we be rescued from the grip of sin, reconciled with our Creator, and renewed. Genesis 1:26-31; Genesis 3:17; Romans 5:12-21;

JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of God. He was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He lived a sinless life, was crucified, arose bodily from the dead after three days in the tomb, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate. He shed His blood on the rugged cross as a sacrifice for mankind to receive redemption, the forgiveness of sins, and life everlasting.

We believe that Jesus Christ will come back to earth to fulfil the promise of the scripture and take full possession of His Kingdom on earth. Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1-18; 1 Corinthians 15:1-28; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:10- 14; Ephesians 1:7; Philippians 2:6-11; Colossians 1:15-23; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 9:13-15; Hebrews 10:19; 1 Peter 2:21-25; 1 John 2:1-2

SALVATION

We believe that salvation is obtained only through God’s free grace and not through any human acts or any religious practices. Only through faith in the saving power of the blood of Jesus Christ can one receive God’s righteousness and be subsequently justified in God’s sight. Ephesians 2:8- 10; Romans 10:8-10

The inward evidence to the believer of his or her salvation is the direct witness of the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:16

The outward evidence to all men is the life of holiness. 1 Thessalonians 4:7; 2 Timothy 1:9

BAPTISM IN WATER

We believe that water baptism provides Christians with a way to identify with the truth of Christ’s immaculate conception, death, burial, and resurrection. Total immersion in water signifies that one’s old nature has been crucified and buried with Christ, and the rising out of water demonstrates that one is a new creation, full of a new life, rising just as Christ rose from the dead in the Father’s glory. Baptism is available to all those who are born-again. Romans 6:3-4; Mark 16:15-16

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit that dwells in Christians and serves as their advocate, comforter, counselor, and teacher. It is thanks to the Holy Spirit that believers can live a godly life and overcome all the power of the enemy. Upon regeneration by the Holy Spirit, believers ought to be filled, empowered, and anointed for ministry and witness. We also believe that signs, wonders, as well as all the gifts of the Holy Spirit as described in the New Testament, are still at work today and are evidence of the manifestation of the Kingdom of God on earth. Matthew 3:11; John 1:12-13; Acts 4:29-30; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Luke 24:49; Acts 1: 4-8

THE CHURCH

We believe that the church is the holy body of Christ, the habitation of Christ through the Spirit and constitutes the body of Christ on earth. Thanks to the Holy Spirit, believers are united to Jesus Christ who is the head of the church. God uses the church as His preeminent instrument through which He fulfills His redemptive purposes. God has given apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. Churches are called to perpetuate the ordinances instituted by the Lord:

  • baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ, public confession of the faith of the Christian and,
  • the Lord's Supper, commemoration of the death of Jesus in anticipation of His coming.

Matthew 16:18, 18:20, 28:19-20; Ephesians 4:11-13; Colossians 3:16; Acts 9:31-32, Acts 2:42; Romans 10:17.
